RISING LEGEND OF MAZDA 2-20

December 05 2023

This year, Mazda Canada launched the Mazda Rising Legends program, an initiative aimed at giving back to the community. Each dealership in Canada was tasked with selecting a young person who stood out for their social commitment. At Mazda 2-20, after discussion with Annie Tranchemontagne, head of the Maison des Jeunes de Rigaud, the choice of our legendary personality fell on Laurence Banville, an 18-year-old with a generous heart and exceptional potential.

A CEGEP student in humanities with a world profile, she aspires to continue her studies in international law at university. Her commitment to her community is exemplary, having participated in various committees for environmental and humanitarian causes.

As part of the program, we awarded her a $5,000 bursary, which she decided to donate in its entirety to the Femmes Autochtones du Québec (F.A.Q.) organization, a cause particularly close to her heart. You can find out more about this incredible project in the video, which you can watch by clicking on it. The moving reaction of Marjolaine Étienne, President of the F.A.Q., is highlighted.

Many thanks to Laurence for her exceptional collaboration. In recognition of her generosity, Scotia Bank, in partnership with Mazda Canada, offered her a movie night so that she could take time for herself and promote her well-being. There's no doubt that this young woman has a bright future ahead of her.
